Description LanHelper 1.48:
LanHelper scans for the abundance of information of the computers on network, the information includes name (NetBIOS name or DNS name), workgroup name, IP address, MAC address, OS type, server type, comment, shared folders, hidden shared folders, shared printer, the access to shared folders, share comment, etc.

The scan engine is integrated with the unique feature detecting the access to shared folders, which helps you to find out whether the shared resources are writable, read-only or protected by password.

Without installing any server program additionally, you would find the network management easier by using the program.

Remote Wakeup sends the Magic Packet to power on the machines that on LAN, WAN or Internet. Now support schedule.

LanHelper is a tool that allows you administrate and manage network.

Remote Shutdown shuts down or reboots the remote machines through local network. Remote Execute enables you to execute command, run program or open other files on remote computers.

For example, start the Messenger Service or just play an MP3 song on one remote computer. If the LanHelper Integrated Command is used in Remote Execute, you can even make the remote system log off, power off, hibernate, stand by or locked.

Send Message sends messages to users, computers, workgroups, or the whole LAN in a flexible way. Refresh Status examines whether the computer is online or not, and detects whether computer name or IP address has been modified or not at the same time.

The scan results are saved to XML file which can be used in future version or early version of LanHelper. Even without LanHelper, the saved XML file can be browsed by browser such as Internet Explorer (IE) or opened by other programs such as MS Office 2002 that support XML.

When opening the XML file in browser, the file LHstyle.xsl writing in eXtensible Stylesheet Language (XSL) will transform the XML file to HTML table, which is more convenient for reading.

· Monitoring the servers & workstations in your LAN/WAN for availability. Once failure or problem is detected, LanHelper will alert the network administrator immediately.
· Check whether the computers are online or offline, and find whether the computer names or the IP addresses have been modified.
· Send text messages to users, computers, workgroups, or the whole LAN in a flexible way.
· Manage the scanned data using with XML. The saved XML file can be used in Internet Explorer browser, Microsoft Office 2002 or other programs that support XML.
