PeaZip has been tailored to either compress or decompress files smoothly. It works with archive formats like ZIP, ARC, 7Z, and TAR. Unfortunately, it does not support RAR files ( it is able to read them but cannot write them.)
PeaZip interface design is based on Explorer layout. Since it is simple, it makes it easier and faster for everyone to perform all actions without any confusion. Using this utility is a breeze, so all you need to do is to select the files or folders to be archived and click the Add button, or use drag and drop method. Next step involves customizing format options and choosing the output destination. Moreover, users can allow the utility to open the output path when the process is finished.
During the installation process you should pay an extra bit of attention because it may change your home page as well as search functions to AVG Secure Search. However, users can select a custom installation and reject any add-ons.
Given the depth of its features, PeaZip is equipped with really nice and quite advanced encryption/password options ( users can add passwords and create a key file) and compression variables. Besides, there are File tools which let users to either split files or join them as well as to look at the checksum files. Users are also given the opportunity to run a system benchmark or system tools including Disk Defrag, Disk Management, Control Panel, Disk Cleanup and Task Manager. Plus, PeaZip lets its users to add each object to a separate archive or append timestamp to archive name.
All in all, PeaZip has impressive number of features and does it job thoroughly. It manages to decrease the size of even large files and uses small amount of system resources.
