True to its name, PeerBlock is an advanced IP blocking utility that prevents unsafe servers from accessing your PC. In other words, it monitors how your computer interacts with other computers over the Internet. You are allowed to block suspicious sites, select what to block, and even create your own list to protect your sensitive data. You can set the app to scan for updates daily, weekly etc.
When you open the PeerBlock for the first time, a wizard-driven interface greets you. You are supposed to set up its options, namely define what you want to be blocked. PeerBlock is able to block anti-P2P organizations, ads, spyware, adware and educational institutions and universities. Thanks to Always Allow HTTP, you can set the app to always connect via port 80 and 443 of your PC, even if they're on your blocklist. If you need more help, fell free to go to the online User Guide. PeerBlock's interface consists of two tabs, Protection and Settings. The main window displays useful information for each connection such as time, range, source, destination and protocol. To enable or disable the program’s status can be done within a click of a button.
Besides, you can check a history list, customize certain settings, set the app to automatically run at system startup and much more.
