Total Video Player by iTinySoft is a free program for playing multimedia files that can play just about any video and audio format, including CDs and DVDs. Total Video Player is compact, takes up little disk space and is ready to run after installation - it does not need codecs or additional filters for basic applications to function. During the installation process, you can choose the files with which it is associated with. Then just double-click on a given file to automatically open it in Total Video Player. Although Total Video Player doesn't quite measure up to the more modern VLC Media Player, it is a good alternative option if you can't or don't want to use VLC on your device.
