MooPlayer is somewhat similar to Microsoft's Media Player v6 (a.k.a. MPlayer2) but has some fundamental differences under the hood. Instead of letting DirectShow (Active Media, Video for Windows or whatever you prefer) do all the work, MooPlayer handles all rendering by itself (well, almost anyway).
