Today at it's special event Apple has announced a brand new super-thin version of its iMac desktop computer. The brand new all-in-one has edges that are just 5mm thick and switches to Intel's Ivy Bridge Core i5 and Core i7 processors. Screen sizes are the same, a 21.5-inch model and a 27.-inch model.
Both new iMacs come with NVIDIA GeForce 600 graphics, up to 32GB of RAM, a 720p front camera with dual mics, and various storage options that include a 3TB HDD, 768GB SSD or Apple's new Fusion drive that mixes 1TB or 3TB of normal storage and 128GB of flash. The new iMac also gets rid of the optical drive, much like the latest Macbooks.
The 21.5-inch model will ship in November, and will cost $1,299 for the 2.7GHz Core i5, 1TB hard drive and 8GB of RAM. In December, the 27-inch model will ship for $1,799 with a 2.8GHz Core i5 and the same storage and memory.
