He may not work full time for Microsoft anymore, but its co-founder and Chairman Bill Gates is still safely on top of the richest people in the US. That's according to the annual list of the 400 richest people in the United States from Forbes magazine. According to their latest print issue, Gates's current net worth is a not-too-shabby $66 billion, ahead of the number two person on the list, Warren Buffet, by over $20 billion. Forbes says that only 20 percent of Gates' net worth is actually in Microsoft stock. He's also been putting his money to good use by investing in other business ventures. Oracle CEO Larry Ellison is third on the Forbes 400 list of richest Americans with $41 billion. Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos is 11 on the list with $23.2 billion. Google co-founder Sergey Brin and its CEO Larry Page are tied on the list at number 13 with $20.3 billion each. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is number 19 on the Forbes list with $15.9 billion and the company's co-founder Paul Allen is set at number 20 with $15 billion. And what about Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg? Forbes places him at number 36 on their list with a "mere" net worth of $9.4 billion.
