Square Enix brought quite a few of its big, triple-A titles to the E3 2011 conference this week, chief among them being the recently announced Hitman Absolution from studio IO Interactive. Square Enix presented the brand new Hitman game a few weeks ago but, since then, not a lot was known about the next installment in the very popular stealth assassination game. Now, thankfully, the Japanese company brought forth a series of screenshots as well as a cinematic trailer for Hitman Absolution. The images below depict the protagonist, Agent 47, going into some seriously dangerous locations, both in his trademark suit but also in disguise, with one photo showing him in a police uniform. Things don't really go according to plan, and Agent 47 is forced to start taking out his enemies while being pursued by a police helicopter through the remains of a destroyed building. The trailer below, no doubt made with the help of Square Enix's world famous cinematic department, also shows off Agent 47's more hands-on approaches, as he infiltrates a house in a very loud way, instead of opting to just infiltrate silently and take down enemies one by one through stealth maneuvers. Still, maybe this more aggressive approach will be motivated by Hitman Absolution's story, which will see Agent 47 be pursued not just by enemies but also by the police after being betrayed. "Hitman Absolution follows Agent 47, a cold blooded assassin, who takes on his most dangerous contract to date," Square Enix described the story of the game. "Betrayed by those he trusted and hunted by the police, he finds himself at the center of a dark conspiracy and must embark on a personal journey through a corrupt and twisted world, in his search for the truth."
