To change your Discord username you’ll need to do the following.
- First open Discord on your computer, the Windows app or the browser version is fine.
- Next, make sure that you are signed into the Discord account that you wish to change your username.
- Once you are on the Discord home screen click the Gear icon (User Settings) in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.
- This will take you to the My Account page where you can view and edit the following:
USERNAME
EMAIL
PHONE NUMBER
Now simply click Edit next to the entry you wish to change, make the change you want, enter your password to confirm the change and you are done. As you can see when you edit your username there is a ? next to the numeric tag for your account. You can’t change this number unless you have an active Nitro subscription.

If you are using Discord primarily from the mobile app on Android or iOS you’ll need to do the following.
- First, open Discord and make sure that you are signed in to your account.
- Now click your Profile icon in the bottom right-hand corner.
- Here click My Account, then tap Username to change your Discord.
- Finally, enter a new username and you’re done. You can also change your TAG from this location, however, you will need an active Nitro subscription to access the feature.
