If you create a lot of content for multiple different sources, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, etc, you should set up your own custom presets for each of these platforms. This will allow you to quickly and easily export content in the exact settings you want without having to manually adjust them each and every time. It's a super simple and easy process so follow along as we teach you how to create "Custom Export Presets" in Davinci Resolve.

Preparing Your Export Settings
Before saving a preset, confirm that all your export parameters are set. This includes:
- Format
- Codec
- Encoder
- Resolution
- Quality control
- File naming with wildcards
- Custom file subfolder
And of course, any of the other settings that you want to be used in your custom Export Preset. All of these elements determine the output of your final file. Make sure each option is correct, because the preset will store exactly what you configure for use in the future.
How to Create Export Presets in DaVinci Resolve | Davinci Resolve Render Presets
Once the export panel is fully configured, look to the top right corner of the large settings column. You will see an icon with three small dots. This menu contains additional options for managing presets.
- Click the three dots.
- Select Save As New Preset.
- Enter a clear and descriptive name such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or anything else you want.
- Choose an icon to help identify the preset visually.
- Enable Add to Quick Export if you want fast access from the Quick Export menu.
- Click Save.

When the preset is saved, Resolve stores every setting exactly as you configured it. This includes wildcards, folder paths, format choices, and quality settings.
How to use a Custom Export Preset in Davinci Resolve
If this is your first preset, a new panel appears on the far left side of the Deliver page. This is the preset browser. Every custom preset you create will appear here.
To use a preset, simply click on its name. Resolve will immediately load the associated export settings. You do not need to re-enter any values or adjust any menus. The preset replaces all active export parameters with the saved configuration.
Once the preset is active, click Add to Render Queue to place the job into the queue. You can then continue creating additional exports or start rendering right away.

Benefits of Export Presets
Presets remove repetitive tasks and reduce the chance of errors caused by manual adjustments. They are super handy for creators who constantly export to the same platform or format. By building a library of presets, you can quickly switch between YouTube deliveries, social media formats, client preview files, or archival versions.
