AMD Adrenalin the official AMD graphics cards management software which should automatically detect compatible hardware and provide driver updates, performance tuning, and system monitoring options. However, in some situations, it may fail to detect your graphics card. There are a lot of different reasons this might happen, it could be driver problems, software bugs, loose hardware connections, or Windows update conflicts. So follow along as we take you through a long list of potential fixes.

How to Fix AMD Adrenalin Not Detecting Your GPU Graphics Card
If AMD Adrenalin does not detect your graphics card on Windows 10 or 11, try the fixes below in the order listed. We've listed them in order of success. The most likely fixes are at the top of the list! If nothing on this list works you should test your GPU in another machine to see if it is actually working. If you get the same problem, there's a good chance your GPU is dead or dying.
Before you start anything make sure Windows and your BIOS is fully up to date. I also like to check to see if there are any issues with the latest Windows updates as well. Microsoft is really good at breaking things. If you do see that a recent update is causing problems go ahead and uninstall it.
Clean Install your Your Graphics Drivers Using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)
For most people, this will be the solution that fixes the problem.
- Download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) from its official site.
- Download the latest stable driver for your GPU from Nvidia or AMD’s official website.
- Disconnect your computer from the internet to prevent automatic driver updates during the process.
- Run DDU and follow its instructions to fully remove your current GPU drivers.
- Restart your system once the removal process completes.
- Install the freshly downloaded GPU driver.
- Restart your system and reconnect to the internet.
- Launch Battlefield 6 to check if the issue has been fixed.
Update AMD Adrenalin Software
This is super straightforward, and the software usually auto-updates anyway but you might need to manually check.
- Open AMD Adrenalin, go to Settings, and use the Check for updates option.
- If an update is available, install it and restart your system
Check GPU and Cable Connections
If you recently cleaned your computer or moved hardware, the graphics card may not be seated properly.
- Turn off your computer, open the case, and check that the GPU is installed in the PCIe slot properly.
- Also check that all required power cables from the power supply are securely connected. If needed, remove the card and reinstall it carefully. If you are using a modular powersupply check both ends of the cables.
Check GPU Status in Device Manager
- Open Device Manager and expand the Display adapters section.
- Your AMD GPU should appear in the list. If you see a yellow warning icon, there is likely a driver issue.
- Right click the GPU, select Properties, and review the message shown in the Device status box under the General tab.
Note: The error code or description and troubleshoot accordingly, as it corresponds to standard Windows driver errors.
Factory Reset AMD Adrenalin
A factory reset can sometimes solve configuration conflicts inside AMD Adrenalin but not if it is a hardware issue.
- Before resetting, export your current settings to avoid losing custom profiles.
- Open AMD Adrenalin, go to Settings > System, and use the Export option to save your settings as a ZIP file.
- After that, select Perform Reset and confirm the action.
- Once the reset is complete, you can import your saved settings if needed.
Reinstall AMD Adrenalin
If the problem still hasn't been fixed, a clean installation is needed. This process removes all existing AMD drivers and related files. Use the AMD Cleanup Utility or Display Driver Uninstaller to completely uninstall the GPU driver. After rebooting, Windows will temporarily use the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. Download the latest AMD Adrenalin version from the official AMD website and install it. The screen may flicker during installation, which is normal. If nothing in this guide has worked you might want to test your GPU in another device to see if it is actually working.
