Having to sign in things that should be staying signed in is one of the most annoying things you'll experience on Windows 11. Especially when it is an app or program that you use all the time. While this isn't unique to the AP app on Windows 11, this guide will show you a few things you can do to fix the EA app asking you to sign in every time you open it, even after selecting Keep me signed in, the problem is usually not your password.

Takeaways:

  1. Learn how to fix the EA app on Windows never staying signed in.
  2. Why does the EA app on Windows keep signing me out even when ticking the "stay signed in box"

Before Anything Else Do this!

For whatever reasons the EA needs to be running perfect Windows time settings. If system time is incorrect, EA authentication tokens will fail validate and the app will request a fresh login every time. So before changing anything else, check that Windows time settings are correct.

  • Open Settings.
  • Go to Time & language.
  • Select Date & time.
  • Enable Set time automatically and verify the correct time zone is selected.

If there is still a problem after checking time settings you will need to manually check for an update.

  • Close the EA App completely, including from the system tray.
  • Open File Explorer and go to
    C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\
  • Locate EAUpdater.exe.
  • Right click it and choose Run as administrator.
  • Complete the update and restart your PC.

If you can't find the update file, just go to the website and redownload the app. it will update itself that way. Alternatively you can just uninstall and reinstall the EA app. I personally choose this option as it's 10x easier.

Remove Trusted Device and Sign In Again

EA uses trusted device records to reuse saved sessions. This might be causing a problem so remove your devices and try again.

  • Open the EA Account Settings page in a browser.
  • Log in to your EA account.
  • Go to Security and Privacy.
  • Scroll to Trusted Devices and expand the section.
  • Remove trusted devices, or at least the affected PC if identifiable.
  • Open the EA App and sign in again.
  • Tick Keep me signed in and complete any verification steps.

If you use Google, Apple, Steam, or Xbox sign in, you may be asked to re authorize once. This does not unlink your account.

Clear the EA App Cache

It might actually be a caching issue, which is oddly common in all game stores, even Steam.

  • Close the EA App completely.
  • Press Windows + R, type %localappdata%, and press Enter.
  • Open the EA Desktop folder.
  • Open the cache folder.
  • Delete everything inside the cache folder. Do not delete the EA Desktop folder itself.
  • Reopen the EA App, sign in, and tick Keep me signed in.
