How to Fix Failed to Receive Platform SIPT in League of Legends

If you are trying to play League of Legends but keep getting the “Failed to receive Platform SIPT” error, it's because the client couldn't find the regional platform data it needs to finish loading. Most of the time you can still sign in without any issues, but before the client stops at the loading screen, it either loses its lobby connection or displays the message after champion select. There's no official fix floating around, so you're going to have to troubleshoot things on your own.

How to Fix Failed to Receive Platform SIPT in League of Legends

If you haven't done anything weird on your system that could potentially cause this issue, there's a good chance that it is server-side and not on your end. Regional Riot service problems quite often show SIPT errors, and reinstalling LOL won't fix a server-side incident.

• Open Riot Games Service Status and select the region where your League account plays.
• Look for incidents involving login, platform services, lobbies, queues, or other League services.

If Riot is reporting an active incident, wait for the service to come back online before making changes on your system. If there are no reported incidents, close Riot Client and League.

IMPORTANT: To make sure no client processes remain open, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager. End LeagueClient, LeagueClientUx, and RiotClientServices if they are still running. Then reopen Riot Client and allow it to finish checking for updates before launching League.

Reset Windows Network Settings and Restart Your Router

Screwed-up TCP/IP, Winsock, or network adapter state will cause issues with the connection between League and Riot's platform services. So it's a good idea to reset everything and start fresh. Again, only do this if you have checked League servers for issues first. There's no point wasting your time doing this if the issue isn't on your end.

• Press the Windows key and search for Network reset.
• On Windows 11, open Settings > Network & internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset.
• Select Reset now and confirm.
• Allow Windows to restart.
• After restarting, disconnect power from your modem and router for about one minute.
• Reconnect them and wait until your internet connection is fully restored.
• Open Riot Client and test League before restoring VPNs or other custom network software.

Test League of Legends Via a Phone Hotspot

If you want to quickly and easily check if the problem is linked to your home internet connection, you can use your phone as a Hotspot to get a second opinion.

• Enable Mobile Hotspot on your phone.
• Disconnect the computer from its normal Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection.
• Connect the computer to the phone's hotspot.
• Open Riot Client and launch League.

If everything works through the hotspot, the problem is probably connected to your home router, ISP, DNS, public IP, or network route. If SIPT appears on both connections, the problem is likely to be server-side.

Note: If you don't have a lot of spare data, playing games with your Hotspot will chew through your data limits and get expensive fast.

Change DNS and Clear the DNS Cache

It might be a DNS issue, so make a couple of changes and see what happens.

• Press Windows + R, enter ncpa.cpl, and press Enter.
• Right-click your active Wi-Fi or Ethernet adapter and select Properties.
• Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then select Properties.
• Record your existing DNS addresses if they are manually configured.
• Select Use the following DNS server addresses.
• Enter:

• Select OK and close the remaining windows.
• Open Command Prompt as administrator and run ipconfig /flushdns.
• Restart Riot Client and test League.

Do not disable IPv6 simply to perform this test.

If the change makes no difference, restore your previous DNS configuration or select Obtain DNS server address automatically.
