How to Fix Xbox Cloud Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Not Working

Xbox Cloud Gaming supports mouse and keyboard input for certain cloud-streamed games, but the feature is not available across the entire library, which is pretty stupid if you ask me... For example, a game may launch normally, display controller prompts, and still ignore mouse or keyboard input because the cloud version of that title does not support those controls. Sometimes it's an issue you can fix, but sometimes it's just the way the game and system were designed.

How to Fix Xbox Cloud Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Not Working

Before you start any steps in this guide and mess around with hardware, check that the cloud version of the game actually supports mouse and keyboard controls.

• Open Xbox Cloud Gaming through xbox.com/play and go to the game you want to play.
• Look for the "Play with mouse and keyboard" badge or mouse-and-keyboard icon on the game's page.

This badge shows that the cloud version of the title supports mouse and keyboard input. If the badge is missing, the game will require a controller, even if the PC version supports keyboard and mouse controls when installed locally.

• You can also compare the title against Microsoft's official list of cloud games that support mouse and keyboard.

If the game is supported, you can work your way through the rest of the steps below.

Use Edge, Chrome, or the Xbox App

Launch the game using one of the following supported options:

• Microsoft Edge on Windows
• Google Chrome on Windows
• Xbox app for PC

The Xbox app is the best option, so use that before you resort to any of the other options.

• Sign in with the same Microsoft account and launch a game that is confirmed to support mouse and keyboard input.

Make sure everything is up to date. They might have added support in a newer version while you are still using an older unsupported version.
