Important Limitations
Although your Pals transfer successfully, some gameplay features are still tied to your new world's progression. For example, if a Pal can be ridden, you may not be able to mount it immediately. You will still need to unlock the required technology or equipment in your new save before those abilities become available. The Pal itself is transferred, but progression-based unlocks must still be earned again.
What You Need Before You Start
Before transferring your Pals, make sure you have:
- Your old pre 1.0 world.
- Your new Palworld 1.0 world.
- The Global Palbox unlocked in both saves.
The Global Palbox is available very early in the game. Open the Technology menu and search for Global to find it. It is a Tier 3 technology, so you should be able to unlock and build it without much progress. Once you have placed a Global Palbox in both worlds, you are ready to begin.
How to Transfer Pals From an Old Save to a New Palworld 1.0 World
Once you have met all of the requirements above, do the following.
- Return to the title screen and load the world you played before the 1.0 update.
- Interact with the Global Palbox in that save.
- Inside the menu, you will see your regular Pal storage alongside the Global storage, which is highlighted in purple.
- To transfer a Pal, move it from your regular storage on the left into the Global storage on the right.
- Repeat this process for every Pal you want to bring into your new world.
Can You Transfer Every Pal at Once?
At the time of writing, there is no option to move your entire collection in a single step. Each Pal must be transferred individually, so expect the process to take some time if you have a large collection. If you only want to move specific Pals, just transfer those instead of your entire roster. It's kinda weird not to add this as an option though...
Now Load Your New Palworld 1.0 Save
- After transferring your Pals into Global storage, return to the title screen and load your new Palworld 1.0 world.
- Go to your base and interact with the Global Palbox.
- Open the Global Management menu, and you should see all of the Pals you transferred from your previous save.
- From there, move them into your local Palbox or directly into your party as needed.
What Transfers to the New World?
Your transferred Pals keep all of their important progress, including the following.
Levels: Each Pal retains its level from your previous save.
Mutations: Special mutations and breeding results are preserved, allowing you to continue using rare or optimised Pals without starting over.
Existing Progress: Your Pals remain fully usable in the new world, including all of the progress they earned before the transfer.
As we mentioned above, you won't be able to take advantage of a lot of stuff until you have unlocked it in the tech tree. Once you've unlocked the required tech, your pals will once again become useful.
