StartIsBack is a lightweight applications that allow to modify the appearance and behaviour of Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. It allows to, among all, launch a task bar in the Modern User Inteface. This way you have an access to the taskbar from the tiles' level.
Among the features offered by StartIsBack you can find an option for retrieving the classic Start Menu with all its features. This way after clicking on the Windows logo you can go to the list of programs and options instead of displaying the tiles - just like it was in case of Windows 7.
Apart from these features, StartIsBack provides you with a vast array of setting for optimizing your Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 operating system. With this program you can turn off the Hot Corners and the Charms Bar, set Windows to boot directly to the Desktop or change the settings for additional displays.
