Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike DLC Trailer and Details Revealed

The first piece of downloadable content for Call of Duty: Black Ops, entitled First Strike, has just been detailed and received its first trailer, showcasing the new maps in the pack. Activision wants to further boost the profit it is getting out of the hugely popular Call of Duty: Black Ops, so the First Strike DLC is set to arrive on February 1, as a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360 platform. First Strike was awkwardly revealed during a podcast, but the official details have now been presented, alongside a trailer for the new content. The DLC will have four new multiplayer maps, as well as a zombie one, and will sell for 1,200 Microsoft Points, roughly translating to $15. Kowloon is the first map of the pack, and was inspired by Black Ops' Hong Kong mission. The layout was completely overhauled by Treyarch with multiplayer in mind, but there will be plenty of rooftop chases and hiding spots available for players to use, as well as a zip line that can be employed to get from one part of the map to another. Discovery's action takes place in an Antarctic research station, neatly divided by a chasm, crossed only by a single ice bridge. The bridge is destroyable, so it's going to be a mad dash to see who can cross it first and defeat their rivals. The Berlin Wall is pretty much self-explanatory and takes place around the famous construction, with one team spawning in the East Berlin section, while the other start in the West one. The map even has a No Man's Land section, complete with auto turrets that are trained to decimate anyone foolish enough to enter it. Last but not least, Stadium is set to be a close quarters map with plenty of places to wage battle in, as well as some clever hiding spots, both outside and inside the sports complex. No details were revealed about the map for the game's zombie mode, called Ascension, but expect it to be revealed closer to the DLC's launch date. First Strike will appear on the Xbox 360 on February 1, and a bit later for the PC and PlayStation 3 platforms, and you can check out a trailer of the DLC below.
