How to Track Santa Claus This Christmas. (2017)

As another Christmas rolls on in and the year draws to an end, Google maps has once again opened up it’s online Santa’s Village. This online village has been specifically designed to keep the younger members of your family entertained whilst you are running around the house getting those final preparations sorted.

Inside Santa’s Village, there is a new game released for each day that Christmas grows closer, so the closer we get to the big day, the more games there will be available. At the very top of the page, there is also a big clock that counts down the day and hours until Santa takes off with his reindeer and begins his journey around the world delivering presents. If you're not yet convinced, this is a great way to distract kids at Christmas when you need to sneak away and wrap those last minute gifts.

You can access Santa Claus’s Village a few different ways, the first way is via Google Maps directly or if you prefer you can just do an old-fashioned Google search for the term Googles Santa Village. Lastly, you are chasing even more convenience, we have attached the direct link.

When you arrive at the Snow filled wonderland that is Santa’s Village, you will see all the different activities that we mentioned above, remembering that the list grows by one each day. Currently, as we are 19 days away from the big day there are only a few different games to play. The games that are added each day vary quite a lot, with categories including Play, See, Learn and Explore. Once you have picked out something that looks interesting, simply click on it to open it and let the fun begin. Inside some of the games, depending on which one you have chosen, you will have access to interactive maps or tasks that will help your children learn things related to Christmas.

As for the main feature, being able to track Santa as he leaves his home in the North Pole to deliver presents, this is not available until the 24th. From that date onwards children will be able to access Google maps and see which countries and places around the world Santa has already stopped by.

The app is also available on your Android smartphones and tablets so you can follow Santa wherever your Christmas plans are taking you this year. Who knows maybe you’ll even cross paths with the big guy. If you are looking for a quick link to the Android app you can grab it below from the Play Store. This is quite a nice feature from Google focusing on the younger members of the family and something that they perform each year. Unfortunately, there still isn't an iOS option available.
