The first thing you should check is the Video Stream Extension that Chromecast uses to cast. Uninstalling and reinstalling the Video Stream extension is the best course of action and can be done in only a few minutes. After you have removed the extension Restart your computer (for good measure) then reinstall it. If this still doesn’t fix this issue, you’ll need to try the next solution.
Make Sure You Have Selected ‘Share Audio’.

Without this, Chrome won’t be able to cast anything. To check, open a new tab in Chrome, then copy and paste the following text into the address bar and press Enter.

When you get to the page, you will see Load Media Router Component Extension highlighted yellow. Now simply use the drop-down box to make sure it is set to Default or Enabled. If you need to make a change, make sure you Restart Chrome afterwards, otherwise it won’t take effect.
