Scribus is a completely free solution for typesetting and writing a variety of publications. You can Scribus to design brochures, newsletters, and also prepare newspapers, and even with a little effort of a book. Ease of use and no fees for using the program make it an ideal tool for desktop publishing. The program falls into the same category as QuarkXPress and Adobe InDesign.
Scribus has the ability to import graphic files into the publication you are creating. It can handle both RGB and CMYK colour palettes. You can create documents with any layout of pages in the program - you can choose layouts with single, double, triple and quadruple folded pages. Of course, you can define all the margins and bleeds as well as the page orientation and size. An interesting solution is a newspaper template or other themes that allow you to quickly create a document.
The program's interface is easy to use and clear, and the application includes an integrated Polish translation. Thanks to this, creating attractive-looking publications does not cause any problems. On the plus side, there is a friendly and open community built around Scribus, which resulted in the creation of a dedicated page on the Wiki portal.
Beginners can use ready-made document templates. There are several ready-made newsletters, brochures, cards, posters, PDF presentations and business cards.
