This article will show you several different options you can use to solve the problem. There are a lot of random bugs and issues on Windows 11 that have been carried over from Windows 10 plus a few new ones that have surprised even us. One of the most random of these errors is the missing sleep option in the Start menu. This prevents users from putting their computer to sleep using the start menu. Forcing them to use other options, though this too sometimes fails.

Thankfully there are a couple of ways you can attempt to restore the Sleep option to the Start menu on Windows 11 though there is a chance that these may fail. If they do you’ll have to wait for Microsoft to patch the issue in a future update. Note: Before you start the steps shown below, make sure you have checked to see if there are any Windows 11 updates. To force check for any update go Settings > Windows Update and click Check for Updates. If any updates are available Windows will download and install them for you.

The first thing you can check is the Control Panel Power Plans.

After the command runs, restart your computer and you should see the Sleep option back where it’s supposed to be.
