It's perfectly logical – at least according to Microsoft – that while hitting Windows Key takes you to Windows UI (tiles mode), hitting it back results in completely nothing. To go back you have to press Windows Key + D. Or you can drag Desktop view tile to the upper left, and now everytime you hit Enter you'll get here. And why? Because hitting Enter in UI results in launching the first app (and the first one is that in the upper left corner).
