If you want to disable the new Office Sidebar in Microsoft Edge you’ll need to do the following.

  • Open the Microsoft Edge, then go to the top-right corner of the screen and click on the gear icon (Page settings).
  • Next click Custom, then disable the toggle next to Office sidebar. As soon as you enable the feature you will see the sidebar appear on the left of the screen.

Alternatively, you can click the three dots at the bottom of the Office sidebar and select Hide sidebar. Either option works fine but you will need to enable the sidebar using the process shown above if you want it back at any stage.
