Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to be the greatest game ever made if you were to believe all the hype from the last five or so years. However, as expected, at least from long time gamers, the hype was exactly that, just hype. So if you have learned anything from this release, it’s that you should NEVER, EVER preorder a game. Although Cyberpunk 2077 runs reasonably well on PC now that a significant amount of the release bugs have been fixed, base console versions are still a horrendous disaster that probably won’t be fixed for a long while.

Thankfully, after a few days of silence, Sony has finally agreed to offer full refunds to customers who want to return their digital copies of Cyberpunk 2077. The official announcement below would lead you to believe that they actually care about you and your refund, however, they weren’t too keen on the idea at the start, with CDPR having to offer full refunds to PlayStation customers on the side.

Microsoft and Xbox on the other hand have been offering Xbox users full refunds since the entire mess started. The process for Xbox Cyberpunk 2077 refunds can be found here > How to get a refund for Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One.

To request a full refund for your PlayStation copy of Cyberpunk 2077, you’ll need to head on over to the PlayStation Store Cyberpunk 2077 refund page. Here you will need to sign in to your PlayStation account and follow the steps through the process. Your refund will be returned back to the account which you purchased the game using and may take several days to process. Seeing as there are millions of people requesting a refund it may take some time.

As well as offering full refunds for Cyberpunk 2077, Sony has also removed Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store to prevent more users purchasing a game that will more than likely end in dissatisfaction and a refund. At this stage, there aren’t currently any planned dates to return Cyberpunk 2077 to the PlayStation Store. It’s also interesting to note that although Microsoft has been offering refunds since day one, they haven’t as of yet removed Cyberpunk 2077 from their store.

If all goes well CDPR should be able to save the PS4 and Xbox versions of Cyberpunk 2077 through a rigorous series of patches and performance tweaks. With the success of the Witcher 3 and its original launch issues, there’s no reason CDPR can’t save Cyberpunk from a total console launch loss. In the meantime, you can always try signing up to Google Stadia to play Cyberpunk 2077, though you’ll need quite an impressive Internet connection to do so.
