Following a long series of rumors, the HTC Sensation, previously known as the HTC Pyramid, is now official, with the expected 1.2GHz application processor inside, and with Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system on board, complemented by a new version of HTC's own Sense user interface. Boasting an aluminum unibody construction, a large 4.3-inch touchscreen qHD display, the handset can easily prove a great option for users interested in a great multimedia experience while on the go. At the same time, the new mobile phone includes a 1.2-gigahertz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which was designed to deliver support for great graphics, as well as for enhanced performance levels. “Smartphones have evolved into pocket-sized entertainment centers that enable people to take their favorite content with them wherever they go,” said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation. “The HTC Sensation takes this even further by combining the great new HTC Watch entertainment experience with the latest HTC Sense experience to deliver a powerful, evolved multimedia smartphone to our customers.” Further more, the new device comes with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with HD video in 1080p resolution, and full stereo sound. The new Video Trimmer tool enables users easily share these videos with their friends over social networking sites. The new HTC Sensation also sports HTC Watch, a new application and service from HTC, meant to provide users with fast access to latest, premium movies and TV shows, or to easily discover the latest video content. Not to mention that the mobile phone sports HTC's latest Sense experience, with a customizable active lockscreen, which was meant to provide users with social updates, photos, weather or stock updates. Or to enable them easily perform actions like making a phone call, sending an email, taking a picture, and more. The new device is expected to become available for purchase via Vodafone in various European countries. It should also arrive in Asia in the second quarter of the year, as well as in the United States in the coming months. “The HTC Sensation integrates multimedia content with relevant, thoughtful features, bringing an exciting new dimension to Vodafone’s smartphone range. The HTC Sensation will be available first in key Vodafone markets from Q2,” said Patrick Chomet, Vodafone’s Group Terminals Director. “The strength of Vodafone and HTC’s partnership is a marker of our commitment to offer our customers truly compelling and market-leading mobile experiences.”
