One of the recent innovations in Skype is the ability to send video messages to offline contacts. It grants the possibility to send an offline video message for your friends to receive when they login to Skype. How to do it?
Sometimes sending a video message is very useful- making a call on Skype is sometimes not sufficient. Of course, we can take advantage of video messaging when someoneâs online, but itâs quite complicated and requires you to upload a video to YouTube and then share a link with your friend. Now, Skype makes it easy to share your videos with others.
The video messaging function is surprisingly easy to use - just choose the offline contact from the list, run the function, record your video message using a webcam, and then press send. Our friend will receive the record after log in to Skype and will be able to play it directly in the programâs window.
How to send offline video messages?
To start with, right-click on the offline contact you want to send a video message to and select âSend Video Messageâ.
Youâll be presented with a preview of what your friend will see to ensure your web cam works properly. Below, we can see the time we have to record the video. We are given a maximum of three minutes, so be prepared for this.
To start recording, click the âRecordâ button. It starts the timer, and we can record our message. When you are finished, click again on the âRecordâ button to stop recording video.
Once you are satisfied with the recording, you can preview the message or send it to your friend. To preview the video, simple press Play button. If you donât like your video message, you can either click on Record button again or remove it completely by clicking the âXâ. If you decide to send it, click the âE-mailâ icon to send it to your offline contact.
Then, youâll be directed to the instant message window for the contact, where you can see a progress bar âSendingâ. Depending on the size of the video and your Internet connection, it can take a while for it to be completed. Our friend will be able to play the video right after he logs into Skype.
